30 years on from inspiring suburban kids to start bands in his seminal group Eric's Trip, Rick White, the king of Canadian lo-fi - still kicks out the jams after all these years - still making it look easy. This 80s comp and the 60s one before it are such generous gifts to fans and confirms that yeah, Rick White really is as cool as he seems. Favorite track: GOOD GOOD THINGS.

The Transcendence Seeker Digging that Grapes Of Wrath and Blue Rodeo are getting some love on this comp. Favorite track: ROSE COLOURED GLASSES.

Bruce Grossman another great collection starting with the best Husker Du song ever. Then closing it out with some Tom Petty. just awesome. Favorite track: DON'T WANT TO KNOW IF YOU ARE LONELY.

Sometimes i like to record cover versions of old favourite songs. It gives me pleasure but also teaches me. Besides just liking a song, there's usually something in particular that makes me wanna learn how to play it. Neat drum rhythms and fills, bass lines, guitar parts or vocal harmonies. Sometimes i just wanna hear what an old song would sound like through my guitar, bass and drums. My recording style and voice. Well, i got quite deep into the process again through October 2023 and ended up with a bunch more recordings i was quite pleased with.

So once again i've collected my faves and made another "20 Golden Hits" collection just for bandcamp. I hope you enjoy hearing these 80's faves as much as the 60's collection, i had a lot of fun recording them.

As a lifelong fan of psyche, I was delighted to have found this, stunned that I'd missed them for three decades and devastated by the news of Dallas' passing. Makes many of the album's lyrics even more poignant. I hear echoes of the Chocolate Watch Band, Long Ryders and both the pop and country sides of the Byrds.
