Chris Jacques
One of my favorite artists. I've been listening to Rick in one band or another for near 25 years. Tomorrow is an amazing track to return with. Thank you.
Favorite track: TOMORROW.

OMG I am flipping out here! Can’t believe you are finally recording and releasing music again. This is so great. You are an artist in every way and deserve so much more than I can ever give back. Thanks for putting these songs up Rick! Any word on that other release you mentioned to me last year?
I stopped writing and recording new music in 2012, with the last thing i worked on being Julie Doiron's "SO MANY DAYS" album. I didn't write much of my own stuff for those last couple years, maybe 10 songs and some covers during 2011-12. After having music as my main creative outlet since the late 80's, i guess i just got burnt out on the process. I felt like i was writing the same songs over and over and lost the inspirational feeling and care about what i was coming up with. Lost the point of making and performing music all together. I put a lot of detailed thought and emotion into 2009's "137" double album and looking back now, I see that it was lyrically a goodbye to the process. Or to that version of "me". It seemed hard to continue after.
I found other outlets for my creativity, one of which got me over a hundered thousand followers (check youtube for the Headquake137 channel), but lately i've been craving to record some new tunes.
So here is the first song i've recorded since the break.
"TOMORROW" was originally written in 2012 and left un-recorded. I chose it because it lyrically documents the mindset i was mentioning above. I thought it would be the perfect place to restart from, right where i left off.
"I need some words to sing,
but my words don't mean a thing, like tomorrow.
Which is not yet a time, but it's worries fill my mind,
oh tomorrow, tomorrow.
Will it be like today, in a different sort of way?
Will it ever even come? Always waiting for the sun.
I'm still tryna write this song,
but it's taking rather long, it's tomorrow.
And though it's called today, i'm still just sore and grey,
but tomorrow, tomorrow.
I'm sure something'll change, like the turning of a page.
Will inspiration ever come, if you're waiting for the sun?
Now the only word that stays,
and gets focused on each day, is tomorrow.
So i gave up on the song, blamed the music to be wrong
but tomorrow, tomorrow.
I'll find another way, to analyze the maze.
Everyday everyone, waiting for the sun."
Since it's a single i thought it needed a b-side to go with it too, so i covered an old Cure favourite called THREE IMAGINARY BOYS.
*written by Robert Smith i imagine.
I may not leave these tunes up here forever.
Hope you dig it, thanks for listening.

If I were in a band like the Golden Gate Wingmen, playing songs from the Grateful Dead catalogue (the greatest songbook in the world) and other forever-glittering specimens of the art of song, like Dylan tunes, solo Beatles picks (Nobody Told Me, Any Road), Zevon, and Van Morrison's Beautiful Vision record, I would also stuff our setlists with songs from Visions of the Higher Dream. And I mean all of them. Not one song would pale in that company. That's how commanding and classic this album is. Grain Sparrow

The effortlessness with which Daniel Romano produces timeless melodies and sincere emotion in his music is always stunning, and is as apparent on this album as it is on countless others of his. From the opener with its marvellously harmonic chorus, to the drone-like folksy pulse of Garden of Heart, to the plaintive beauty of the album’s namesake White Flag, this release harnesses the type of variety and depth which alone belong to great albums. phil_klipper
More out-of-this world psych jams from the Los Angeles outfit, thick with noise-rock fuzz and hazy dream pop vocals. Bandcamp New & Notable May 12, 2021

Love this project so much I just had to throw some money in appreciation. Don’t know if a vinyl release is possible but I’d be the first to buy it.
Also - Foot of Pride or Blind Willie McTell bonus tracks??😛 chasbowie
