Another release of my home recordings in the ELEVATOR TO HELL "Parts" series. More of my favourite demo songs that never got re-recorded and released by the ELEVATOR band at the time.

This collection was first released in 2003 on our "Great Beyond Recordings" CDR label as GBR-014. Limited to 100 copies with this cover art. It was compiled from the original master stereo DAT mixes using an original sequence made in 1998 for a planned vinyl release that never came to be. This digital version was newly remastered in 2020.

All songs originally written, performed and recorded on the day of their creation by me alone (except "Eye of July" which features Mark Gaudet on drums) at my home studio in Riverview N.B. from 1996 to 1998. Tracks 1-8 (Part 6) is stuff from 96, early 97. Tracks 9-16 are from 98. Mostly all captured with my trusty 1/2" 8track. "The Chocolate Factory" contains audio clips and lyrics from the original Willy Wonka movie.

As a lifelong fan of psyche, I was delighted to have found this, stunned that I'd missed them for three decades and devastated by the news of Dallas' passing. Makes many of the album's lyrics even more poignant. I hear echoes of the Chocolate Watch Band, Long Ryders and both the pop and country sides of the Byrds. Stunning, and a contender for my album of the year. Iain H
